The DGT Smart Board is an electronic board with many uses. It was first developed as a more affordable alternative to DGT wooden boards, and also to make tournament broadcasts more accessible to organizers. It is made of the highest quality plastic and is endowed with the same extraordinary functionality of the wooden e-Board boards.

Just like its wooden brothers, the DGT Smart Board knows exactly what is happening on the board. Always. This gives this device an impressive precision and speed, recording and transmitting live all moves instantly, as you make them on the squares.
The DGT board is not only very fast, but also skinnier, ergonomic, lightweight and resistant with a total weight of only 2Kg! It is painted imitating wood, and it looks and feels almost like an actual walnut wood board. The truth is that the look is one of its strong points.
For this fantastic chess board plastic electronic pieces have been manufactured also more affordable than the wooden ones (sold separately), but they are totally compatible with the already standardized DGT wooden electronic pieces. If you already have Royal or Timeless pieces, you will be able to use them on this board, since it is totally compatible. It's the same technology, but with another finish!
The board's dimensions are also impressive: 55x55mm squares, which is the perfect size for tournaments, and a total of 52x52
