Place yourself in this moment of history
Critical moments: In the midst of the Cold War, Fischer threatened not to play the match unless the right conditions were met, one of which was no less than doubling the prize fund!. There were many rumors of intervention from the CIA and the Soviet government, but the truth is that the champion Spassky had to endure a lot of pressure.
Still, the Russian managed to comfortably win the first game, but that was just the beginning... from the third game on, he could only score one and a half points out of eight, with which the American was crowned world champion and was welcomed back home as a war hero.
These were the pieces chosen
Look at them well. Fischer was very detailed and rewarded above all the playability. No extravagances or aesthetic madness. He wanted good pieces to play with, just with the necessary characteristics to properly identify the pieces, that were comfortable to the grip, flat on the board and ready.
